Export, like its sibling Export Select, now features a new 6-ply, 7.5mm, 100% Mahogany shell for increased warmth and striking tonality. These new Export shells are formed using Pearl's exclusive Heat Compression Shell Molding System, the same process used on all Pearl drums from entry-level to our top-of-the-line Masterworks drums. Pearl's proprietary overlapping seams are gapless and allow the shells to vibrate uniformly, unencumbered by air pockets like some others. This process is the most exacting on the market today and is responsible for Pearl's exceptional clarity and purity of sound.

The EX-5514S (5ü in. x 14 in.) matching wood snare drum features Pearl's all new Mahogany shell, 8 CL-50 lugs, 1.6mm hoops for ear splitting rimshots, and the SR-014N vertical pull strainer.

I.S.S. Standard Equipment on New Exports
All Export mounted toms have been upgraded to feature Pearl's patented I.S.S. suspended mounting system tom holders that remove the mounting brackets from the shells, thus allowing the drums to vibrate freely for an incredible increase in both resonance and sustain.
